LATIMER, 27, has a resume that staggers most academic professionals and illusionists around the world. Even by the age of 22, he has achieved a level of recognition in the magic community matched only twice in history. In 2003, Latimer became the third American in history to hold the title "Grand Prix 'Best Overall' World Champion of Magic,"
behind the magic sensations Johnny Ace Palmer and Lance Burton of the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the last 5 years, his show and team have traveled to more than 40 countries as a result of his championship win. Meanwhile, Latimer has assembled the most advanced research and development teams the art of illusion has ever seen (see more the THE STUDIO). By gathering physicists and engineers from around the globe, Latimer has collected the most innovative illusions in the industry.
In 2003, Latimer was recognized by the "Magicians of the Century" Siegfried & Roy, when they awarded him the S.A.R.M.O.T.I (Siegfried And Roy Masters Of The Impossible) title. Within a year, Latimer had won the title of "Newcomer of the Year" from the Society of American Magicians and had taken championship after championship title until he was awarded not only the titles
"World Champion of Close up Magic" and "World Champion of Inventive Design for Illusion," but also the main title "Grand Prix 'Best Overall' World Champion of Magic." Maintaining his goal to point magic in a new direction, Latimer quickly went to work creating over the top visual effects. In 2005, in recognition of "his pursuit for originality and perfection," he was asked to join the elite group of the Magicians of Inner Magic Circle of London, thus making him the youngest individual in its over one hundred year history to join this brotherhood of the "best of the best."
Later that year, Latimer was asked to give a command performance for the Royal Family of Monaco at the Princess Grace Theater in Monte Carlo. His own style of new illusion has gathered attention around the world with numerous television appearances in countries such as France, Korea, Japan, Netherlands, England, and the United States.
Latimer's out of the box concepts for illusion design are redefining the field, with accolades that include nine international awards for his work, not including his eight titles in competitve performances and championships (learn more in MEDIA under Genni Magazine article entitled "Champion"). Within a couple of years, his creative designs (BIO) would catch the attentions of the Wynn Corporation. At the age of 26, Latimer was approached for his creative engineering to be the illusion
consultant for the 90 million dollar creation of the show Le Reve at the Wynn Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Currently, Latimer brings together advanced technologies for live special effects to the mainstream market. Not only is his own show a combination of technology and modern art (see THE SHOW), but also, his team has truly proven to its audiences that anything is possible. As the performer and creative designer for numerous magicians, illusionists, casinos, concerts, events, performances, product placements, corporate shows, on screen and off screen events around the world... Latimer truly defines the "Illusion of the Twenty-first Century." Recently acknowledged as the "Greatest working magician today" (Scott Walter, Parade Magazine), his physical and visual proof of building the impossible covers an astonishing range that includes bending light, shaping water, levitating fire, rotating a stage, and many more live effects on stage (see THE SHOW). Latimer continues to work hard, pushing the art of magic in new directions and to new levels. With his reputation for creating the illusions of tomorrow, this.. is only the beginning.
